Pokémon Pearl is role-playing games with adventure elements. The basic mechanics of the games are largely the same as their predecessors. As with allPokémongames for handheld consoles, gameplay is in third-personoverhead perspective, and consists of three basic screens: a field map, in which the player navigates the main character; a battle screen; and the menu, in which the player configures his or her party, items, or gameplay settings. The player begins the game with one Pokémon, and can capture more using Poké Balls. The player can also use his/her Pokémon to do damage to the other Pokémon. Whenever the player encounters a wild Pokémonor is challenged by a trainer to a battle, the screen switches to a turn-basedbattle screen where the Pokémon fight. During battle, the player may fight, use an item, switch the active Pokémon, or flee (the last not an option in battles against trainers). All Pokémon have hit points(HP); whenever a Pokémon's HP is reduced to zero, it faints and cannot battle unless revived at a Pokémon center or with an item. If the player's Pokémon defeats the opposing Pokémon (causes it to faint), it receives experience points. After accumulating enough experience points, it can level up; most Pokémon evolveinto a new species of Pokémon whenever they reach a certain level. Pokémon's stats also increase every time it levels up, and they will also learn new moves as well. If the player cancels an evolution the Pokémon will learn new moves faster.

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, known in Japan as Mario & Luigi RPG 2×2(マリオ&ルイージRPG2×2Mario and o Ruīji Aru Pī Jī Tsū bai Tsū ?), is a role-playing video game developed by AlphaDream and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS handheld game consolein 2005. It is the second game in the Mario & Luigi series, and is the sequel to Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga for the Game Boy Advance. The game was followed by Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, released in 2009.
Although the sequel toSuperstar Saga, the game's plot is unrelated to that of its predecessor with an emphasis on the time-traveling theme, which involves the protagonists traveling between the past and present of the Mushroom Kingdom. The adventure follows Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi as they search for Princess Peach, who has been abducted by an alien species known as the Shroobs. [2]The gameplay centers on the co-operation between the quartet, who must use their specific qualities and skills to solve puzzles to progress through and features multiple role-playing game elements, but with a turn-basedbattle system focused on timing accuracy. The game is considerably darker in tone than its predecessor, especially in its plot and themes.
Partners in Time was positively received by the media, gaining an aggregate score of 86.80% from Game Rankings and an 87 from Metacritic. Like its predecessor, the game was praised by critics for its characterization and comical style, as well as its use of the DS's dual screen and the rumble feature.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days(キングダム ハーツ 358/2 Days Kingudamu Hātsu Surī Faibu Eito Deizu Ōbā Tsū ?, subtitle read as "Three Five Eight Days Over Two")is an action role-playing video game developed by h.a.n.d. and published by Square Enix for the Nintendo DS. It is the fifth installment in the best-selling Kingdom Heartsseries, and takes place near the end of Kingdom Hearts, continuing parallel to Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. It is a prequel of Kingdom Hearts II. The game launched in Japan on May 30, 2009, in North America on September 29, 2009 and in Europe on October 9, 2009. The story is told from the perspective of Roxas, following his daily life within Organization XIIIand his relationship with fellow Organization members Axel and Xion.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Dayswas directed by Tetsuya Nomura and co-directed by Tomohiro Hasegawa. Nomura decided to develop a game for the Nintendo DS, and once a system had been chosen, decided upon Roxas as the protagonist. The development team wanted to use gameplay similar to previous Kingdom Hearts games but could not due to the insufficient number of buttons the DS had. It features 3D graphics, and single- and multiplayer modes of play.
Following its release Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days received generally positive response by publications for video games. While critics praised the gameplay and graphics they have also criticized the backtracking and its storyline. The game also achieved good sales worldwide while a soundtrack, light novels and manga series have also been released in Japan. The cinematics from the game have also been rendered in high definition and released within the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remixcollection.

The graphics have been improved from Diamond and Pearl. The dialog boxes of previous games have been changed to speech balloons that appear over other characters' heads, allowing more than one character to speak at once. Japanese players can have kanji appear on screen, rather than only hiragana and katakana. During battles, the sprites of the Pokémon are fully animated and the camera changes position to highlight specific parts of the battle. In addition to continuing the day and night cycle introduced in Gold and Silver, Black and White introduces a seasonal cycle, with the seasons advancing every month rather than being linked to the calendar. Outside areas appear differently depending on the season, such as changing of leaves in autumnor snow on the ground in winter. Certain areas are only accessible during certain seasons, and different Pokémon can be found in the wild in winter where others are encountered in the other seasons.
The Pokémon Deerlingand Sawsbuck change their physical appearance to match the seasons.
There are two new battle mechanics: Triple Battles and Rotation Battles. In Triple Battles, both teams must send out three Pokémon in a row at once; Pokémon on the left or right side can only attack the opponent's Pokémon on the same side or in the center. Changing position takes up one turn. In Rotation Battles, each side sends out three Pokémon at once, but they are arranged in a circle that can be rotated at will.Black has more Rotation Battles than Triple Battles, and the opposite is true inWhite. Another introduction is Combination Moves: a starter Pokémon can be taught one of three moves, and using them together in Double or Triple battles produces more powerful attacks. In the wild, walking through different-colored tall grass can trigger Double Battles against wild Pokémon rather than only Single Battles as usual.
Occasionally, the player can find rustling patches of grass and rippling water, where they can encounter either a rare Pokémon, a Pokémon more common in the opposite game version, or the highest evolutionary form of a Pokémon whose lower forms can normally be found in the area. This is the only way to capture Pokémon such as Audino, Emolga, and Alomomola. Also, dust clouds in caves and the shadows of flying Pokémon on certain bridges can be entered to either find a rare item or encounter Drilbur, Excadrill, Ducklett, or Swanna, none of which can be found in the wild otherwise. Occasionally, when throwing a Poké Ball, the capture rate is highly increased, triggered by a random event. There are also new side-games and sidequests: the player can compete in Pokémon Musicals, [30]a side-game similar to the Pokémon Contests of previous games; the Battle Subway, similar to the Battle Towers and Battle Frontiers of previous games; and on the Royal Unova, [a]a cruise ship that the player can ride and fight Trainers aboard to win otherwise rare items.
